More uncounted ballots found in Wash.

SEATTLE (AP) — With Washington state in the middle of a recount of its amazingly close governor's race, election officials in Seattle's King County entered a warehouse Friday and found a plastic tray containing 150 misplaced ballots.

The discovery brings the number of belatedly discovered ballots to 723 in the heavily Democratic county — potentially enough to swing the election to Democrat Christine Gregoire.

Republican Dino Rossi won the Nov. 2 election over Gregoire by 261 votes in the first count and by just 42 after a machine recount of the 2.9 million ballots cast. On Thursday, with every county except King, Pierce and Spokane reporting, Rossi had pulled ahead by 74 votes.

The Republican Party went to court Friday to try to block, for the time being, the opening of those ballots. A judge set an afternoon hearing.

King County Elections Director Dean Logan told The Seattle Times that the ballots in the tray, like the 573 other ballots found earlier this week, were mistakenly rejected because there was a problem with how the voters' signatures had been scanned into the county's computer system. The tray apparently was left behind and forgotten in the warehouse, Logan said.

Election workers, along with observers from the political parties, searched the locked cage inside the warehouse.

The search of the warehouse was prompted by a curious finding: None of the envelopes of the 573 other ballots contained names beginning with the letters A or B, and only two started with C, The Times reported.

King County election officials want to count the ballots, which they say are valid votes. Republicans want those ballots to stay rejected — or at the very least, they want King County to investigate further before adding them to the mix.

It would be funny if those 150 ballots all turned out to be reps and for Rossi, that some enterprising campagin worker had segregated out and squirreled away.

Actually, I just found 90,000 Republican votes under my sofa cushions. I'm wondering whether to send them to the election board.

I found some too. I should call somebody but have to go to the store and get more ink cartridges and paper. Remember lefties, you say every vote must be counted.

Right. Does anyone really believe that these ballots were misplaced?

Misplaced?...They were exactly where they planted them.

What exactly is the implication of this? Why are there names on ballots anyway?

Absentee ballots, probably still in their envelopes...

Where the hell is the US Justice Department?

Time for John Ashcroft to drop the politeness approach.

As he leaves Washington, D.C., he should deliver one final address identifying the
Democratic Party as the functional equivalent of the Taliban, Communists,
and "insurgents" in Iraq.

Some poobah thought Senator McCarthy had no diginity or honor...that was decades before
The Democrats showed what that phrase looked like in the flesh.

There's more.

It was reported this morning that in King County, a write-in ballot with the name "Christine Rossi" written in was counted as a vote for Gregoire.

I am not kidding.

Unbelievable. Just un-freaking believable. They just keep conveniently "finding" more and more ballots. Anyone who really believes this process is on the level has to have some serious head-examining performed.

Look, people in WA and everywhere need to know that this is why elections have end dates, a time when we just have to say enough is enough. This is never going to end until the 'Rats find a way to win. They'll just keep moving the goal posts back until enough of those "missing" ballots are conveniently "found", and the majority of them "just happen" to go Gregoire in sufficient numbers for her to squeeze out a win.

The guy who found the hard drive behind a copy machine at Los Alamos must have moved to the King County elections board.

Send those ballots directly to the FBI. This is getting out of hand. A total joke. Somebody needs some time out in jail.

I can't decide what is more of a joke.

The 3rd count of the votes, or the Dems in a Dem state unable to steal a close election when given multiple opportunities.

How pathetic.

They couldn't steal Florida. They couldn't steal Ohio. They are having trouble stealing WA and Russia can't even steal Ukraine's election! The Libs and Commies are cracking up. They are a disgrace to their fathers and grandfather's that knew how to steal an election properly.

One of the two parties has to step forward to
call the USSC into the fray. Besides which,
the Supreme Justices would simply say, "We're
out of it until the State Supreme Court makes
a decision of some sort that one of the parties
disagrees with."
