Thats what I like about religion...Its unites people so well. A religion that agrees with John Kerry and his ilk, is not going to get my unity. The beliefs of the religion need to be treated with intellectual honesty.
This is why so many great thinkers throughout history are Christian. Consider our founding fathers as an example. There has not, to this day, been a better grouping of brilliant thinkers than during the birth of our nation.

The Founding Fathers were mostly Christian but not all. Their ideas about liberty were more eclectic than Christian in particular, despite what your televangelists will say. (Historic revisionism works both ways!)
Benjamin Franklin is one of the more notorious Deists, and George Washington supported Thomas Paine
after he wrote
Age of Reason.

Re # 18...
This is why so many great thinkers throughout history are Christian. I couldn't agree more, but most of the great religions (as well as non-religions) have had great thinkers....Homer, Plato, Confuscious Socrates..etc.
But I am not selling any particular faith. I just don't like one religious group trying to destroy another as we can clearly see happening in this country.
