"Why not Santorum?"

Better yet, WHY Santorum? Why would you want to promote a party hack whose stated values mean nothing to him when he has the chance to advance himself instead?

He supported his ideological opponent (Specter) instead of his (supposed) ideological soulmate (Toomey) because his advancement was more important to him than the values that he claims to support. Santorum would sell us out in a minute.

He supported his fellow incumbent Republican senator in his re-election campaign. There isn't a U.S. senator currently holding office who wouldn't have done the exact same thing. President Bush also supported Specter over Toomey, and I voted for Bush. Did you vote for someone besides Bush in November?

Santorum is pro-life, I believe he is pro-second amendment, he's young, energetic, appealing and he would carry a huge home state. If I'm not mistaken, the media has taken him to task over his views on gay marriage. If his major failure is his support of an incumbent Republican, it seems to me that his good far outweighs his bad. I think he might be a player in four years.
