The funny thing is, she had previous convictions for faking crimes! Guess the lesson didn't really sink in, and now a suspended sentence? (I didn't see where it said suspended.)
Note the following snippets:
The judge who earlier had ordered Dunn to undergo psychological testing said Wednesday she has "severe mental illness," according to a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney's office. -- From Former Claremont professor who faked vandalism gets year in jail
and
Chief among the alleged prior bad acts discussed were allegations from 2000, when Dunn was arrested in Nebraska on suspicion of shoplifting.
According to discussions in open court, the woman claimed an officer roughed her up. However, a witness later reported seeing her inflict bruises upon her own arm and tearing the buttons of her own shirt, Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Martin Bean told the judge.
The prosecutor also told the judge that Dunn had a prior petty theft conviction and had once pretended to be a nurse and called a pharmacy seeking prescription medication. From Professor's past in play at fraud trial
Real winner, eh? So what makes anyone think they will yank tenure? Sounds like just what these institutions are looking to hire these days!
A fake hate crime is itself the worst form of hate crime.
However, 1 year in prison is the harshest punishment possible for a crime which targets conservatives.
Always amazes me how the left sees the "boomerang" hit em smack in the kisser every time........ahhhhhhhhhh
Boy she really must be hating life. Or she sure is hateful. I would hate to be her. she hatched a hairbrained hate honda historical hissy fit. Ok Too much....
"and two felony counts of attempted insurance fraud."
I guess she figured she may as well cash in on her actions.
What a piece of human debris.

Shuddering at the mental image.
Hey now...my 3 years in sixth grade were some of the best years of my life...
rimshot
No $#it. LOL!
I'm not going to worry about her, she's a shrink, or could at least act like one in the joint. The vast majority of her fellow prisoners are going to be drug offenders who probably would value the way she'll twist their little burnt out brains, anyway. She'll probably convince the rest that she can help them win reversals of their convictions on psychological stress defenses.
She'll be running the place within three months, just watch.
BUMP to read later.
According to our local rag, in addition to the 1 year sentence, she will have to pay restitution of about $20,000 as well.
With about 5000 students on the 5 campuses, that is about $40 per student. By my rough, back of the envelope calculation, the cost of one days tuition (per student) is about $200.
More than I had hoped, though the judge didn't seem to be very sympathetic to her from what I had read in the past.
Oops, make that $4 per student, not $40.
Maybe she could joint Angela Davis at UC Santa Cruz. By now, they must have an all-felon faculty.
That pretty much covers it...
In my opinion, most hate crimes in this country are done by those who are the "victims." We had a black woman in Laurel, MD ransack her own home a few years ago and spray paint things like "KKK" and the N-word and some other stuff. The community rallied behind her (black and white) and gave her money, food, and other charitable donations. It was later discovered that she did the whole thing herself. We had another incident her in Maryland of someone pouring gasoline on a lawn spelling out a racist word. I suspect that this incident may well have been self-perpetrated. It's really sad, but people prey on the good will of others.
