A shakeout is afoot in the world of urban apparel, as sales of once red-hot labels begin to cool, analysts and industry executives said. The across-the-board slowdown is alarming some of the major department-store retailers that had allocated a growing amount of space to these brands on the belief that the double-digit sales growth of recent years would continue, sources said.
Federated Department Stores, which operates the Macy's and Bloomingdale's chains, for instance, is seeing recent sales of urban brands decline in the double digits, compared with year-ago levels, said one person, who added: "It has everyone worried."

Meanwhile, demand for the oversized jerseys and baggy jeans that these lines were known for dwindled, as classic looks regained popularity.

"What we had at retail," admits Ullmann, Phat Fashion's president, "was too urban."

The "story" is still being written. It's not the first edition that bothers me, but the more recent chapters. That you have no problem with Levis Strauss & Co.'s involvement in furthering the leftist agenda in this country speak volumes.
Perhaps being new here, you are unaware that Conservative activism is a large part of this forum, and that includes boycotts. If that bothers you, perhaps you could bring it up with Mr. Robinson.
Boycotts are cool. But I boycott boycotts.
what are you reading? I was talking about the man, like you were talking about Kalashnikov being a man, not a communist weapons supplier.
What is good for the nut is good for me....
Like everything else pushed by MTV, BET, et al., Hip-hop is crap.
boycotts are being boycotted by me....
Mainly because there is no way to avoid buying things from a liberal company or things that liberals made without living in a cave in never never land like yourself....
Some folks can be stubborn to a fault.
Yeah...one of my problems too.
He just likes to go into threads where I am and make the same stupid comments, over and over again. He should realize that I am just as stubborn (my wife would probably say more so) and that I am not getting off of FR anytime soon.
What you said makes total sense. politics are not the be all and end all of everything in the world. ahh well, back to studying :)
That of course is true. However, this is a Conservative political forum. This is one of the places in the "world" where we debate such things. If you're not up for the task then why do you come here?
You know, you are really beginning to bore the hell out of me....
Go stalk someone else....
I don't expect that every Conservative boycott every leftist company in America. Sometimes that is not possible or to much of a "burden" such as you claim.
The problem with MikeinIraq is that he has not just opted out of this particular battle.....but that he is fighting on the other side (his statements on gun-control provided in this thread).
"You would IMO be a poor leader. Mutiny!
I've never lead a Yoga class of Birkenstock-wearing, granola-eating liberals successfully. The U.S. Army did give me high marks for leading soldiers though. Their opinion carries more weight with me than does yours.
Like I said....if you're not up for the task of debating your anti-gun positions, then perhaps you should keep them to yourself.
if you want to ever take a tour of my gun collection, please feel free to see how "anti-gun" I really am....
yeah you are boring. I will make on except to my boycott rule. I am boycotting you....
It figures that since I won't bend my knee to this @$$ that I am now playing for the other side. he only wishes.
He wants me to leave this site too. Amazingly enough, while his recommendations will get me to order many many more Levi's, his recommendation to leave will be ignored as well.
This guy loves to stalk me. It must get his rocks off or something....
Even John Kerry claims to have a "gun collection". Your statements on gun-control are what you have on display here.
LOL
you are funny....
keep going this is amusing...notice how I am not getting kicked off of FR....this is funny....
I rescind my boycott of you. You post the funniest things!!!!
now that you have crawled back into your hole, I will go back to grabbing guns from 3 yr old Iraqis and replacing them with hot dogs!!!!
Boycotts are the right of any individual to participate in. That isn't to say that everyone has to agree that they are a good idea or very effective. MikeinIraq and I have every right ot disagree with you on any issue.
If you have a problem with that, take it up with whomever you please. In the interest of peace I will now chose to avoid exchanges with you. I guess that's a boycott.
Have a good day.
I only pinged you because I know Mike needs the morale support. You wouldn't leave your little buddy to to try and debate me on his own would you? Some friend you are.
Mike, I know that you are mad at me for exposing you. How long did you think you could pull-off the phoney Iraq sevice thing before you were called on it? As to your anti-gun/Pro-Clinton quotes I posted on this thread, well....what did you expect? This is a Conservative forum. If you can't handle it perhaps you should be more careful about espousing your liberal views.
