It is late night here in India. So am getting of the Internet now. But I strongly suggest, that people who care about the future of the civilized countries like USA, India, Israel, South Korea etc should ACT and ACT vigorously in pursuit of the people that promote the violent idealogies as peaceful idealogies-like Mr.Arastu, in this case. So, FReepers, let us not forget to call the school and let them know that PEOPLE ARE WATCHING THEIR ACTIVITIES.

I did a google searrch on Minhaj Arastu -- seems he's been a busy propogandist:

Muslims Organize In The Midlands

06/06/03

A new Muslim group in Columbia hopes you'll begin to refer to Judeo-Christian values as Judeo-Christian-Islamic values.

The local chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) organized last month in the Midlands. Director Minhaj Arastu, a history teacher at Irmo High School, says among the group's goals is improving the image of Muslims. For example, Arastu says values shared with Christians and Jews should be referred to as, "Judeo-Christian-Islamic" values.

"Islam shares a Biblical heritage with Jews and Christians, and so when we talk about the value of life, or family values, we can talk about them as being Judeo-Christian-Islamic," Arastu told 89.7 WMHK.

Dr. Warren Larson, the Director of Muslim Studies at Columbia International University agrees there are some shared values, but there are stark differences, especially when it comes to marriage.

"According to the Koran, you can have up to four wives, if you can afford it," Larson said.

"I think another major difference would be in reference to how a woman is treated. In the Koran, it looks very much like you are allowed to beat your wife, and that is certainly not true of Christianity."

Arastu says one of the first priorities of the Midlands chapter of CAIR is voter registration.

=====

In August 2003 he was elected as president of the SCFCA (a coaches' association).

He wrote an article for The State (aka The Snake) newspaper on July 24, 2004. (Did he really return to his native land as the school secretary said?)

He is still listed on the Lexington 5 (Irmo) website as faculty under "social" studies. I would assume this page has been updated since the beginning of the 2004 school year, though he has not been there "all year" according to the principal?

cair-net.org still has him listed as their contact in Columbia, SC.
