"I can't get the about:config address to give me a useable page. Am I the only one who can't make it work?" Hmmm. Could be a permissions issue. Are you at work? I haven't seen that problem arise.

Hit ctrl+t to open a new tab. I find the "Duplicate Tab" extension more robust.
It will duplicate any tab you right click on and select...along with that tab's entire history. Very handy.

If you upgrade to a later version of Firefox, you need to redo those steps, by the way.

My settings remained unchanged.

This thread is an oldie but a goodie.
This
"fix" may do the same (similar?) stuff, not sure.
I ran the exe weeks ago and the optimization is quite impressive.
Just wanted to pass along in case you haven't seen.

I should add that the file at SoftPedia is by no means new, although it integrates well into Firefox 2.0, from my own experience. More less just an FYI; not trying to pimp the site or file or anything! :O)

Thanks for the firefox tip:
It works great! If anyone can't get it to work the problem is
P.E.B.K.A.C. so don't fret it.
Thanks

Hope you’d forgotten about this post again :)
Just found it today. I was vexxed by slow scroll, mouse-over, and clicking speeds in firefox. Nice, they’re fixed. Thanks a ton for posting that.
Since many people (like me) didn’t figure out it was just firefox that was the problem, you’ll probably keep getting hits.

Funny. I built a new computer earlier this year, and had forgotten about this, as you mentioned. I has so forgotten about it, I didn’t make these changes to my NEW box. LOL
Wow. It really does help, after not having it like that for awhile. Thanks for the heads up! I might have never realized it! hahaha

When I ran Mozilla 1.6 a few years back, there was an option in “preferences” for pipelining- all you had to do was put a tick in a box.
