I've circulated to a lot of non-FR, anti-Hitlery people.

Another great one for Ms. Noonan! Good insight into Hillary Clinton.

BUMP!

She does not intend to go down in flames as a leftist when she runs for president. This will take guile. She has guile.

This should be read in GOP leadership circles. I Hillary gets to the right of Bush on Homeland defense and immigration, she can win IMO. If there is an attack by terrorists who come through the Southern border, Bush will spend the rest of his term on the defensive.

They've got a deep bench and a big fight coming. Alphabetically the list so far can be considered to include George Allen, Bill Frist, Rudy Giuliani, Chuck Hagel, John McCain, Bill Owens, George Pataki, Mitt Romney, and beyond that any number of potential surprise guests from Tommy Thompson to Colin Powell to Mrs. Hutchison. It will be quite a race. I'm already looking forward to it.

Me too. And Peggy is a little more up on a couple good potential candidates-Owens, Allen, and Romney. Add Mark Sanford and Tom Tancredo to that list. Tancredo's gonna run, you can bet on that. Will he win? No. But he'll run. IMHO, the Sanford factor aside, out of Noonan's list these will be the front-runners:

Romney, Frist, Allen, and possibly Owens, but his marital difficulties are making this less likely. Sanford is much like Owens but more fiscally conservative, which is why I like him. My dream ticket would be Sanford or Allen paired up with Tancredo or Romney as a running mate. We do need at least one Southerner on the ticket, I think.

On the money. Absolutely convincing analysis.

The big thing that worries me is the Republican candidate who will oppose her. Some of the names she mentions would be excellent. But are they well enough known, and can they win the backing of party leaders? Some of them are avid pro-abortionists, who would split the party and let hillary creep into office through the wreckage.

I don't think Hillary can win this election. But I do think the Republicans could lose it. Let us pray.

She could disavow what she has written in the past, but never has.

I think Peggy's wrong here...Hillary Clinton will "disavow" what she's written in the past in a heartbeat if it is causing her trouble.

And the left won't care because they'll know she doesn't really mean it.

Hillary will get a significant number of votes just because she is a Democrat (see Kerry v Bush). She will get a significant number of votes because she has a vagina and many similarly equipped voters will view this as the most significant qualification for any candidate.

She is dangerous. Always remember, do not grant any powers to the government today that you do not want Hillary to have in four years.

Hitlery would be worse than Kerry and Gore put together. Just what the nation doesn't need, Fidel Castro in drag in the White House.

We need to mobilize and prevent her re-election to the Senate.

Noonan writes: What I concluded was that Mrs. Clinton was an unusually cynical leftist political operative who had no great respect for the citizens of the United States or for America itself, but who saw our country as a platform for her core ambitions: to rise and achieve historic personal and political power both with her husband and without him.

Bingo! She's pegged Hillary perfectly.

Makes me wonder, what are HRC's "core ambitions?"

Hillary doesn't respect Americans or America
but she craves to rule over us.

All plotted and planned from the beginning...

Even in the name she gave her little girl.

"Chelsea Victoria" Clinton
"Shall-see Victory"

On immigration she has begun talking tough on border security, accusing the administration of not spending enough, employing enough people, using the best technology. She recently called herself "adamantly against illegal immigrants," by which she no doubt meant illegal immigration, and has been inching toward support for a national ID card.

So.........Opposition to 'Illegals' is purely a Republican/Conservative issue.

Don't get me wrong here but what about the 'Unions', the stalwart voting block of the Democ-Rat-ick Party? This subject should cut both ways in that unionless, cheap labor is an abomination to this Rat constituency.
