See feminist Cynthia Eller's book The Myth of Matriarchal Prehistory: Why an Invented Past Will Not Give Women a Future. Basically, academic feminists are trying to pretend that the world (or Europe, at least) was once a peaceful matriarchal goddess-worshiping place until those evil patriarchal male god-worshiping warriors showed up. Eller, an honest feminist, points out that that's not what the evidence shows. And Lawrence Keeley, in his book War Before Civilization shows that the peaceful part is a bunch of bunk, too.
