Because when we give animals "people-like" status, we have totally opened the door to true animal rights.

Why do you keep holding onto this statement? Who in this discussion has given animals "people-like status"? What the hell is "people-like status" anyways. Does that apply to computers, plants, our favorite shirt? What folks here are trying to tell you (though you can't seem to see it through your vegetarian fearing eyes) is we love our pets and can see the difference between a pet and a pest/problem. Anyone who would kill their pet is just as dangerous to other members of society as they are to their own pets. If you kill something you supposedly love for "fun" or out of frustration how should the rest of us in society feel when you don't even know us. It will take even less effort for you to kill us then the dog since you have zero emotional attachment to us. ScottM1968 I think you need to slow down a little and review your stance. You might want to check and make sure your prescription is current as well. Good Luck.

We should seek to shun such nutballs, not lock them up for a felony for killing a wolf.

You and others here see the difference between pets and pests. But others who use the same laws do not.

They are the ones who have given us a legal gay marriage when laws did not prohibit it.
