I don't know if the "Jingle Bells" version I hate so much is performed by Kenny G. It features some female vocalist going "abbadabbadeebadoobayabbadabbadoobadeeba" between words.
Probably so. I was a teen then so I didn't hear anything more about it past the concert.
Agreed. She did her best though I guess to remove what she could so she wouldn't just be singing Silent Night over and over again. Makes me so glad my daughter is in our church's school. She not only will be singing silent night at their program, but in German no less. What a treat! There was a time, not necessarily for a program, that I remember learning that in a PUBLIC SCHOOL. I don't remember it being for religious reasons either. Teachers thought it was a good excuse for us little ones to learn a little German both language and culture. We'd sing O Tannenbaum too. Off topic a bit, just hit me last night as my little one was practicing for her school program.
Thanks for the recommend. Christmas music sounds more like his nitch. I look forward to listening to it!
I don't know that his passion extends that far now-)
Ok after listening to some Christmas music on some local stations last night. I have found a couple other new worsts:
Grown up Christmas list--the singing, the words, all of it
Christmas shoes?(the one where the boy is poor and dirty and wants a pair of shoes for his dying mother)--the sentiment is sweet, but I don't care for the singer.
Another one is one they play at Christmas, but it just isn't a Christmas tune--one of the first lines is about some guy running into an old lover in the grocery store. I despise that song.
Be nice to her and go find the Porky Pig version. ;-)
Look up 'The Restroom Door Said Gentlemen'.
I have a VHS with a Porky Pig cartoon where he is singing "Old McDonald."
"...With a me-me-me-moo moo here and a me-me-me-moo moo there"
Outrageously funny!!!
Oh gads. That song is forced glurge; it makes me cringe and reach for the dial when I hear it.
So *that's* where that song can be found. Many thanks!
