Yes, and then the Christians took over the Roman society. The Vatican is still there, as a remnant of the Holy Roman Empire. History is good, but only if you actually know it. Your parallel is flawed.
I was not trying to draw a parallel. What I was pointing out was the murderous treatment of a certain group of people for their beliefs.
The Nazi's did the same thing to the Jews. If the Jews had taken over Germany (WWII) would that have made the attempts to exterminate their race fair game?

The Rome that the Christians ruled was in a rapid decline. Certainly not the Rome of Julius Caesar.
