A high rise in the Chicago Loop at 135 S. LaSalle has at least one floor on fire. Live shots show a raging fire through the windows.
This is the LaSalle Bank Building. Began just after 1830h.

ALL RIGHT!! The first Chicago highrise fire brought about the birth of how SERIES it was.
Wow, nice caps!
Hmm -- this building have a name, or just an address?
At least 34, people were able to get down the stairs from Floor 34, sooty and smoke-eaten...
Sounds like everyone got out OK as far as the reporters know at this time.
Perimeter being set up by CFD about two blocks around this structure.
Flames are now starting to come OUT the windows...
The number of people seen coming out of the building was only about a half dozen...business day over pretty much...
45 stories I think I heard it was on the 29th floor
Anyone have a live TV link for us out-of-towners?
God Bless the firemen and people in the building.
Shoot, never mind. Wasn't paying attention.
Just talked to my daughter, who works in the building across the street. It's at La Salle and Adams...3 people treated for injuries (assume smoke inhilation)...one victim unconscious. Fire on about 29th floor...calls have been made from inside the building on cell phones...no word on how many (if any) people are above the 29th floor (above the fire).

Good job!
Thanks!

The LaSalle National Bank Building? This doesn't sound like terrorists, it sounds more like when the Rose Law firm in Little Rock had a convient fire.
ABC has it on even in LA.
Turn to your local news channel.
They just said that the fire is not taking up the entire floor, so hopefully people are able to get out.
