I knew what you meant by sad. I just wanted to use the opportunity to voice one of my pet concerns.
It's a struggle within my own thinking, having been raised during the relatively affluent 50's and 60's, to reject my 'self' and give all for my kids.
At 56, there isn't that much 'future' left in me, but what I see in my children and what I see in the world impels me to really consider this thing called posterity.
I don't know which to want ... I'm glad I won't be here in a hundred years, or I wish I could see America in a hundred years.
I suppose the one true condition we need to maintain is ... don't lose "God Bless America" from our collective conciousness.
