Hoping someone goes to hell is like wishing your brother dead.
It's a hateful thing to do and hatred is of the same spirit as murder. So, it is wrong to wish such a thing. What we're supposed to do is seek God's will in all things but work in his will to attempt to get all people into heaven that wish to make that choice. I can't imagine how one can have Christ's concern for another person's soul in them when they have a heart wishing to see that person in hell. My brain snaps trying to get around the incompatibility of the stances. It's like pulling the trigger of a gun pointed at a guy hanging from a cliff and yelling, "give me your hand". Why, so you can drag the dead body up after you murder them and console yourself that you tried to do the right thing?

Absolutely not!

Except for Michael Moore, Paul Begala, John Conyers, Jessay and Nancy Pelosi.

Well the general answer is to "Kill them all and let God sort them out."

If there is a god he may have better things to do and so the sorting may be slow. All the better.

[ "Is it morally and theologically acceptable to hope anyone goes to hell? ]

Hmmm.. Dennis;..
You mean the ones that are not in Hell NOW and make life a living hell for others ?.. I have a theory that those that will be in hell are already in Hell here.. and work daily to make life hell for those around them currently... And they can be your neigbors and or relatives.. for sure some elected and non elected officials.. Yeah.. Hell is NOT completely some future inferno, some definite brush fires are burning all over the place.. maybe ya'all know a future denizen for the permanent BBQ... I know I do, and have been burned a number of times..
To hell with them.. may not be wishful thinking..

It's not something I'd want to do.

Except, perhaps, for satan himself.

I don't know what hell is. But Scripture takes a lot of time to emphasize it's pretty horrible. God must have His reasons for that. He does nothing capriciously.

At least hell is isolation from any sense of God's presence.

Thankfully, even the gates [defensive] won't withstand The Church. Interesting thought, that. Reminds one of Christ going into hell during His 3 days His body was in the grave--and He took captive, captives.

I've expereinced enough pain in this life several different times, I wouldn't want my worst enemy to unnecessarily experience seconds of hell. It has to be a lot worse.

Thankfully God's mercy triumps over justice.

Nevertheless, HE IS A JUST GOD AND He must isolate destructive rebellion away from His perfection.

But would I wish any mortal to go to hell. No. No thanks. I'd rather they repent and experience Christ's Salvation.

Eternity away from God is a long time.

Morally acceptable?NO WAY!

As Christians,we are to love one another above all else. How can one wish an eternity in hell upon someone and claim to love them?

As for Jews.No way can they even think evil against their neighbor.Zec 8:16-17
