Every time I get into these types of "DISCUSSIONS" sooner or later the moderator tells me to 'DROP IT'.

I could never be confused with a 'docile' woman. I'm opinionated, head strong, stubborn and love a good fight.

Men and women should be equal...period. That goes for child rearing and working outside the home.

Let the games begin.

You are the kind of woman I married 16 years ago, and am still married to.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have zero time for people who can't or won't stand up for themselves as human beings.

Seems to me that what you speak of above is up to the couple, not you...other people may have differing ideas of what constitutes equality, if that's a concern to them.

I think this attitude gets to the heart of the problem. One of the big problems with the injection of modern feminism into society is that women feel compelled to demand equality even in areas where they are not equal. For instance, we have female firemen who could not pass the basic physical requirements for being a fireman, so the requirements were dumbed down because feminists demand equality, and that means they should be able to be fireman too, regardless of reality.

The effect that this attitude has in personal relationships, from my experience, is that the woman will refuse to defer to the man in any circumstance, regardless of his knowledge or expertise in that area as compared to hers. She will be compelled to argue the subject regardless of how ignorant she is (on that subject) because to do anything less would be allowing him to "dominate" her.

In my humble opinion, a true partnership would consist of the man and woman having equal respect and equal value in the relationship, but not necessarily equal say in all things. Each person would need to be able to recognize and trust the strengths of the other, instead of engaging in constant competition. For instance, if I married a doctor, I would defer to her in all traditional female areas as well as all medical areas, because she would obviously be the strongest in that category. However, I would also expect her to defer to me in my areas of strength, and that is where the modern feminist attitude ruins things, because it won't allow her to do that.

As far as the woman-bashing on threads like this, I think the ladies here should take it for granted that they are exceptions to the generalizations made here. A mistake that many right-thinking intelligent women make is they assume that all women are just like them, and that, therefore, any complaints about women in general are complaints about themselves in particular. This is not the case. You beautiful, intelligent, morally principled women of FR must realize that, in this modern feminist society, inasfar as you reject the flawed feminist thinking, you are the rebellious exceptions.
