Yeah it would be a real shame if he took the place of Chinese student in an American college. The difference: The Chinese student is either born here or fully paid.

The Chinese student is probably here on a STUDENT VISA and if the student is a FEMALE she will undoubtedly become pregnant, her child will become a US Citizen and if her child is a little girl, the Female Student will NOT return to China after she obtains her education (paid for by her parents from their 'cash crop') because China will not accept her girl-child into their Country. So then SHE becomes an ILLEGAL just like Pablo.
The Chinese student I'm thinking of got a job as a physician's assistant to an Oriental doctor and is paid 'under the table' because she has no Green Card (and scant chance of getting one due to not aborting the girl-child born in the USofA).
So, the question of immigration and documentation is much LARGER than just Mexicans swimming across the border.
Pablo is from Mexico and Mexico is part of America!!! Give the kid documentation so he can go to school. He's no more "Mexican" than I am Scot or German. My greatgrandfather was from Scotland, came to the USofA after the War Between the States (Civil War) and was Naturalized without benefit of Green Card. My greatgrandmother and ggrandfather were from Berlin, Germany, got here sometime after the same conflagration and I have no information about their becoming US Citizens. He owned his own business in America.
We can't shut down the borders. We can't shoot everyone who enters the USofA illegally. We aren't that kind of people. Annex Mexico if it makes you feel better. It should have been part of the USofA anyway.
Off the soapbox for now.
