He mentions we need to do something about racism in this country. That's what he means by "IT."

Uh, maybe, we can smear all the red states as being racist because they vote Republican? That will fix the problem.

This guy Hughley would make a great replacement for Rather, though he's a bit conservative in comparison.

A lot of people already smear red states for being racists since republicans by default are racist. Anyone would be better than Rather, and I think the show's ratings would be better.

He also has one filthy act. He did "comedy" at a local college and the review mentioned his constant use of profanity. Every other word out of his mouth was a vulgarity. But this is what passes for "talent" these days, especially among the so called urban/ethnic crowd.

Wrong. Another Montel or Judge Bozo show is enough already. Daytime TV needs something different. Everytime I turn on the TV during the day, I just have a bunch of court shows or Montel-like shows to choose from. So I just turn it off. As for political shows, look at the ratings O'Reilly gets. You telling me Elder couldn't get a part of that audience?

The best thing about Moral Court was that HOT female host. I wonder what happenned to her?

BTW: We all know what "DL" is short for...

I'm a woman so maybe that's why I like it. I can't be perfect ya know ;-) BTW, other than him and Montell, I don't watch anyone else, not even Oprah. I wish a political talk show would come around but the people who would bring in the ratings are working and not watching tv. I'm sure that Elder could more than get a part of that audience. I'm not sure why he has never been offered anything in the way of a major show on tv. They took him off the radio in New York, and now there's John Batchelor at night WHAT A SNORE.

Well the networks are making money off this tacky comedy otherwise they'd not have it on. If I want to watch an intact black family, I watch reruns of Cosby Show which wasn't as heavy handed with race as this DL show is. The characters are hollow and obnoxiously rude.

DL as in "When Roberto Alomar is on the DL, it doesn't mean he's injured!"

When its on "da Down Low" nobody has to know...

That show is destined to fail if they don't start talkig about politics.

His show is terrific and doing well. Political junkies make up a small market.

I remember seeing Brother from Another Planet on HBO when I was about 11 and enjoying it. Saw it ten years later and hated it.

Homeboys from Outer Space was bad even for WB. What a stinking pile...

Let's not forget the sequel: "Scream Blacula Scream." Blaxsploitation at its best, although it lacks a topless Pam Grier.

Vampire in Brooklyn. Couldn't sit through thirty seconds without changing the channel.

"HUGHLEY: You know what? I was never a Democrat or a Republican. I was always an independent."

Then:

"HUGHLEY: --as the other base, they would have done what they had to do. You can’t walk – you cannot walk in the middle.

MAHER: Right. People who are—

HUGHLEY: You’re either dogmatically liberal or dogmatically conservative. That’s the only way to ever act."

This man can't even get his philosophy straight, much less how to apply it.
