This might help a little to explain for you puzzled FReepers why so many women on FR feel about this man the way we do. Her perspective is a joke, but I do think that her explanation for the psychology of the sex appeal of "that big, white, balding guy wearing the spectacles" has some validity.
If some of you could send this to the OMGIIHIHOIIC ping list, I would be grateful. This should heat up the discussion!!
And my husband laughed at me when I told him Cheney was hot! I see I'm not alone. ;-)
You are most definitely not alone. Now you know why you think he's so hot. Aren't you glad you understand?
I am proud to be the founder of the Cheney Chicks! I was absolutely correct about this guy! HA!
Found an older girl who likes younger guys.
=) I'm not threatened.
Cheney is different, and even more powerful an archetype. Cheney is everybody´s father, in a nation that has lost, through feminism, its sense of men being strong, in control, taking care of things, being...well...MANLY. He´s like...well, Sean Connery comes to mind. But not James Bond. The older Sean Connery. A deep, older leading man. A wise father.
Take THAT Senator Leahy...lol
Go Cheney Go!
A lot of things come to mind when thinking of Cheney, but "pompous" and "know-it-all" aren't among them. "Manly" definitely is. Out of the presidential debates, the Cheney-Edwards debate was my favorite because of Cheney. What a MAN. Serene, sedate, wise, and strong. And sexy? Yeah, I can see that! What's really fascinating is that this liberal babe GOT IT! After the debate with Edwards, when Cheney so adroitly wiped and waxed the floor with him, I told my mom: "I love Dubya, but Cheney walks on water." This article confirms my observation!
Also hot and sexy.....

"...A recent Newsweek poll indicates that the Kerry/Edwards ticket would beat Bush/Cheney by 51% to 45%, with a 4% margin or error. But the same poll shows that a Bush/Powell ticket would win over Kerry/Edwards by 53% to 44%, while a Bush/McCain ticket would win by 49% to 47%.
Gosh, choosing winning candidates with whom voters strongly identify would give Bush and the Republicans not just a win, but the significant moral boost the Republican party will need in upcoming political races, but that would mean breaking up the team.
More than a few Republicans would like to see Cheney go. Persistent issues of his precarious health aside, Cheneys approval ratings have plummeted.
...these two things, American hearts and minds, and international good will, are inextricably intertwined. But getting both back means breaking up the team. ...
Dump Cheney? The only real question is, when? In time for the Republicans to win, and to save what the party stands for.

Big Cheney ping!
I love it.
Leahy? Oh
blechhhhh!
Yes, that was great. When asked who won the VP debate, Ann Coulter responded, "Oh, Vice President Cheney beat Senator Edwards about the head."
This is a fabulous post!
Anyone have the LA ping list?
HAHA! I bet it is the same person. Hilarious! Cheney makes a convert!
PING

You are most certainly not alone in this
