Last minute changes in travel plans. We've decided to fly rather than drive. Just can't afford to take the 30 days that we had planned to be on the road right now. Too much stuff going on here. Will hate to miss visiting Florida and the other chapters along the way, but we'll figure out a way to continue our nationwide chapter tour later in the year.
Syncro had planned to drive us there and now will be accompanying us on the plane. Thank you very much Syncro!!

My January itinerary includes a flight out of Santa Barbara, San Francisco to Eureka to visit my daughter, Los Angeles to join my other daughter then off to....you guessed it, the Best Happening in D.C.!! Have a safe flight Jim.

We just got word from a Metro Official...
Metro will have extended hours for Inauguration day.
Metro will open at 5 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20 and close at 2 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 21.

And don't forget your 24 hour Metrorail pass @ $6.50 or the 7-day short trip pass at $22.00. Both allow unlimited use of the rail system.
The 24 hour pass is valid for one day of unlimited Metrorail travel on weekdays after 9:30 a.m. or all day on Saturdays, Sundays or federal holidays. Pass expires at the end of the operating day—3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, midnight on other nights.
The 7-day short trip pass is valid for seven consecutive days for Metrorail trips costing up to $2.20 between 5:30-9:30 a.m. and 3-7 p.m. on weekdays. Pass is valid for any rail trip at other times. If trip costs more than $2.20, you must use the Exitfare machine to pay additional fare.
Both can be purchased at any station. Additional information about passes for both the rail and bus can be found at: http://wmata.com/riding/passes.cfm
