I always thought it was significant that the community was there for Terri and her family back then. I'd like to think the same thing would happen now if it wasn't for all the disinformation about her condition.

FR mention of Terri Schiavo Day -- as found by 4Godsoloved..Hegave:

From St. Petersburg Times...dated Feb. 17, 1991 (1 year after Terri's collapse.) -- article found by 4Godsoloved..Hegave:

This city has proclaimed today Terri Schiavo day. ...She underwent surgery, performed by Dr. Yoshio Hosobuchi of the University of California at San Francisco in December, to implant a stimulator in her brain.

The brain stimulator implant was a success, said her husband, Mike. Mrs. Schiavo is slowly emerging from the coma at the Mediplex Medical Center, a neurological care center in Bradenton, he said. She will undergo at least a year of speech, occupational and physical therapy.

This is the kind of information that the community should be gently reminded of, along with seeing the images of Terri with her mother. There are higher angels to be brought out there -- and so many prayers that that will in fact be done!

Hi, FL e, the above was your thread, and I meant to ping you. Thanks again for the wonderful information you were instrumental in bringing out for Terri. As I review the old threads, it's hard not to cry in frustration.

FV, I cannot find link to the St. Pete Times article about Terri's Day 2/17/91 -- maybe that's why I didn't post it then.

But I DID read it myself in their archives -- it was a little community service type article, so warm and folksy.

I am praying for the same outpouring of support for Terri and her family tomorrow, for God's blessings to pour down from heaven. Even if the weather isn't the best, if it's a "liquid outpouring of blessings", that God's work will be done as people repent and put Him first in all things.
