Great news that Maureen Dowd's family seem to have voted for Bush. Now I know the deep anger and resentment that MoDo spits in every column. I guess she detests Ann Coulter, too.
To: Jose Roberto
This was discussed earlier. The key point here, is that Dowd is in effect, using her brother's "persona" to warn against nominating Hillary in '08. Reread it again..carefully..you'll see the underlying message..

this is the best column Dowd has done in years. Because most of the article is quotes from right wing Republicans! It had logic, facts, evidence, history, gosh, everything you need in a good column.

If Maureen has such differences with her family, it really explains a lot about her and her writing. She's obviously pretty bitter , isolated and angry. Makes sense she hates Bush who is probably similiar to her her brothers.

There is a chance -- just a slight glimmer of a chance -- that we are seeing the beginning of a conversion. Could Dowd be like an atheist who visits St. Paul's, and then decides to have a serious chat with some practicing Christians. I give very low odds on this outcome, but why else did she write this column?

Interesting. Dowd may in fact be trying to derail Hillary...just like Pat Cadell (he said he wants Hillary far away from the 2008 Dem Nomination). Susan Estrich is also on record against Hillary (Estrich said that the one that needs to see reality is Bill) It looks like the Dems may be getting tired of losing. Thanks for pointing it out to me.

Why is it that I enjoy thinking that the people who know Maureen Dowd best reject what she stands for?

Hey Billybob!
Our boy Ken went down today. I had just got home and was in the kitchen when I heard him blow Final Jeopardy. Quite a run he had though.

Hmmmm...In this instance I have some sympathy with Maureen.
Only by virtue of the fact, it can be a lonely row to furrow when you are on the opposite side of the divide. My father is a former Labour Party politician, my brother a socialist - and me, the only conservative around the dinner table! :-)
Happily, I am also the cook at Christmas time. So if they want to eat - they shut up, and sing off MY hymn sheet! ;-)

I give very low odds on this outcome, but why else did she write this column? I'll give you two reasons:
A hangover.
A deadline.
