"The girl is actually old enough to take care of herself. Humans are the only animal that will allow their young to move back home."

How do propose this girl should take care of herself without a home to live in, no food, no money, and no emotional support?

"(many old people can tell stories about taking full and complete care of themselves long before you and I think children should have to.)"

That may have been true long ago, but children in this day and age are not raised to be self-sufficient at such a young age.

This is intentional. Our government does not want anyone to be self-sufficient at any age. It is your choice whether you want to do it or not.

Are you familiar with the word 'sheeple'?

I was fully self sufficient at 15. I think the country would improve if a few more were introduced to the concept at 12 to 15.
