"And when insurance refuses to pay the injuries bill, and if you can't afford it, guess who pays for it."

The government"

"and I think that If the government has got to pay for medical bills incurred because you didn't wear a seat belt , they ought to have the right to tell you to wear one"

You are profoundly wrong, but I don't have the time or patience to explain why. I have to get to bed; gotta work in the morning. The fact that you are here on FR is a positive sign. Seatbelt laws, and the way they were enacted, with the false premise that they would be subserviant to other moving violations, are un-American.

The government should NOT be able to dictate to ME what I should morally do within the confines of my property. That includes my car, and that concludes my evening rant.

Seatbelt laws are as un-American as political correctness.

Driving is a privilege anyway, we are both wrong, but we can continue this conversation
