Keeping stolen property, especially of innocent people is immoral. If you know the property is stolen you must try to return to the original owners or somehow make restitution. They had an episode about it on Without A Trace on Thanksgiving night. A German gentile betrayed a Jewish family to an SS officer and lived with the guilt of what he did for a lifetime and finally saw him seen off to justice in Israel. We can make bad choices but if we have a conscience, we are driven to ultimately make it right with The Judge Of All The World.

I don't have the impression she's advocating collective guilt, rather disgust at her father and his generation.

Well my mother tried to get back property that was stolen from her in Danzig... The answer? First after her case they don't give to anybody else an extract of the property rolls of the 1930s, as she was able to document her claim like this... And then they told her to ask for compensations from israel (the mayor of Gdansk)... As antisemitic as they always were!
