Ukraine Journalists Drop Bias, CBS to Study Idea

Inspired by a public pledge from Ukrainian TV journalists to provide unbiased reporting from now on, CBS News has launched an internal investigation to assess the potential impact of such a move.

"If it tests well in our focus groups, you can bet that Dan Rather will break the story," said an unnamed spokesman for CBS. "We're always looking to improve our bronze-medal broadcast, but you can understand why were cautious. This new theory of news coverage would require massive re-staffing here and at our bureaus around the world."

The CBS source added that if the other U.S. networks didn't follow suit, and begin removing the bias from their newscasts, "we're going to look like a bunch of liars, and we'll be virtually alone. Other than Fox News, we have no empirical evidence to suggest that integrity and balance is a profitable marketing position to own. The concept is too new, too cutting edge."

I'll take credit for that line of thinking that they have now because I sent CBS an e-mail about a month ago and suggested that they just report the truth and let the people decide!! lol

Of course, CBS internal investigations take years to complete.

It's such BS, it is pathetic. MSM cannot remove bias. It is built into the system by years of special training and indoctrination. Those behind the curtains that control the huge liberal far left establishments need all MSM to continue to provide a super un-balanced reporting of the news laced with liberal minded "guidance" as how to interpret the news they report. MSM is an integral part of the far left liberal establishment. About the only thing they are admitting to that people at this forum and elsewhere have been screaming for years.......is that they admit now that they add bias. So what. The masses probably don't know the difference. They use words to try to slip out of tight spots when temporarily challanged. Next week the stupid American public will forget what the word "bias" means.

It wouldn'r work! The ultra-left wing CBS unions would never permit it!! Although, since all the CBS union officials (and there are a LOT of them) speak/read/write only Russian, CBS could slip it in and it would be months before their unions knew. And, if CBS made the change in the middle of the second quarter, all the union people and a lot of the management staff would be in Pyongyang and Havana for a couple of weeks of May Day festivities (this year's theme: "Betting to win on the races of the running dogs in media") and wouldn't know what happened 'til they got back.

CBS has a lot to learn from Soviet era journalists. All kidding aside, at one time in the early nineties (I think it was '92) after the fall of the iron curtain, The "Moscow Evening News" was broadcast nightly on PBS. The tone of the program (it was translated) was "here is what happened, we report it and you decide". None of the constant opining that we had (and still have) in the MSM here in the U.S. This was before Fox News Network existed.

It was supremely ironic and quite evident to the casual viewer that during this time the "Moscow Evening News" was less of a propaganda mouthpiece than our own ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN!

What a refreshing idea, CBS actually broadcasting the truth! "IF" it looks good for their ratings. How sad is that!
