Lou Grant probably is in my top ten or so. Pity about the actor's politics but, both on the MTM show and in Lou Grant, loved the Grant character.
G'kar from B5 might have to be there for me as well. And Spike from BtVS.

G'kar and Londo both they played well against and for each other. People need to watch B5 start to finish in the shortest time frame possible. The story holds together so well and the character development is superb.
On another note Magnum 43? needs top 10 imho.

Agree about Lou Grant ... just a fantastic, well developed, multi-faceted character ... "There's a word I wanna use Mary and I can't cause that kid's here. You know what that word is Mary? BALDERDASH! That's not the word I had in mind, Mary!"

I saw part of the special and Lou Grant was in it, though I don't know that he was top ten. The part that stunned me, though, was how old Ed Asner looks now. I didn't recognize him at first; it wasn't till he was saying "I" and "me" in reference to the character that I realized who he was. He's pretty old, but geez....

The only other good role Asner ever had in my opinion was in Enemy at the Gate. That's about it though...

(Eclectic, you say? Yeppers.) Oh goody. Who the heck is "Artie"?
From Alice or Hart to Hart?
My guess is the former, but I don't remember it at all.
I think I remember Hot l Baltimore better.

Ted Knight ruled on MTM - Ted Baxter had loads more entertainment value than Lou Grant (who was good too but not top 10 in my book).
