Why would a country continue to import people who are unemployable or for whom there are not jobs? Just importing someone else's problem, IMHO.

I don't think Sweden let Muslims in to fill job slots.

I think that in true politically-correct leftist style, Swedes welcomed Muslims because they perceived them to be 'persecuted.'

Sweden used to be quite xenophobic and restrictive about granting residency status (except, perhaps, for American draft dodgers back in the '60s).

Only a couple of decades ago, if you wanted a job or residency in Sweden, you had to pre-arrange a job with an employer.

I don't know when they changed their attitude, but it's too bad. They would've been better off if they'd kept their old regulations.
