When it comes to high-dollar procurement, you are surely correct on that. These things aquire a momentum all their own.
We've got systems on the P-3 which are virtually USELESS in real-world ops, and we've said so, to everyone with an ear. We still press on trying to "make 'em work", just to justify the money spent.

Ah, but you get to hold out for your smooth little 737 comin down the line. Right now, the F-35 is a jobs program and nothing more. The day will come, the announcement will be made, and we can get on with that little Hornet killer I told you about a few months ago. (don't mention on the forum)
