Food for thought...

He also added that the majority of the representatives of the Polish diaspora in the United States hate George Bush and want to cause a quarrel between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin.More than food for thought, extremely revealing and fascinating, in light of the posts all day yesterday here.

What a pile of Russian nationalistic clinton.
Huntington's "Clash" contains a few pages on the civilizationally split nature of Ukraine: Eastern Ukraine is a part of Orthodox civilization (i.e. in Russia orbit), while Western Ukraine has different (Uniate) heritage and civilzational nature and gravitates to the West (historically through Poland and Austria-Hungary). So to use [Orthodox] Serbs there would be heights of stupidity. Catholic Croats would do much better in Uniate Western Ukraine.

Polish politicians are seeking more influence within the European Union, currently dominated by France and Germany, and to achieve this, they want to become patrons of the whole of Central and Eastern Europe. ...the United States would benefit from a Yushchenko victory as it would weaken Germany and France on the world arena and also split Ukraine and Russia.Sounds good to me. The best way to limlit the future threat of a US-EU confrontation is to strengthen the representation of "New Europe" in the EU, and staving off a possible alliance of the EU and Russia against us. Putin already sided with France and Germany against us in Iraq, so a future EU-Russia alliance seems likely if "New Europe" can be brought to heel.

Food for thought... More like Russian diarrhea.
