Some opinions are best left unsaid and, if not, are preferably ignored. The unfortunate part is that, this being a public message board, the airing of these types of comments, left unchallenged, paints all of us as churls.

Agree. But that's the price of "free speech" I guess - some will take advantage of the opportunity to troll and/or personally denigrate somebody who really did a nice thing, sexual orientation or motivation notwithstanding. I just consider the source.

Ms. Degeneres (and her advertisers) made a magnificent gesture, and I have no overwhelming urge to overanalyze or look this particular gift horse in the mouth.
