Please re-read my post. I never called anyone a scumbag or any other name. For you to compare Ellen using one hour of her show to "give" cruises donated by Celebrity to Bob Hope is ridiculous. Bob hope and those who toured with him gave up holidays with their families for weeks every year.
One hour of a show that she was doing anyway does not even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath. I did not say what Ellen did was bad. I only pointed out that what she gave away was paid for by someone else and she benefited greatly for their generosity.
Please forgive me. I didn't mean to impy that you called her a scumbag; I guess I was feeding off of all the other negative posts.
But I do disagree with you in that I believe we can compare this to Bob Hope. I doesn't need to be on the same scale to be considered similar. Why can't we just admit that what she did ( albeit with someone else's money) was still a very nice jesture?
