King County recount results to be posted in 10 minutes
King County ^ | 11/24/2004 | King County Records, Elections, and Licensing

All day the King County elections webpage has read

RECOUNT RESULTS
(Posted by 3:30 p.m. today)

That just changed to:

RECOUNT RESULTS
(Posted at 12:30 p.m. today)

We will soon know if Gregoire managed to steal it.

The original differintial for Kitsap is on the chart if you look at the difference between the original totals for the county.

There was a deadline for counting votes - why don't we use it? Votes arriving or found after that date don't count. If the counties are so sloppy they lose votes, how can I feel confident that some of those votes haven't been manufactured?

My basic feeling is...
the voter should fill the ballot out correctly - if they can't do that and there is any question, then the vote doesn't count. If it can't be read by the machine, it doesn't count. No trying to guess intention.

the elections department needs to have procedures that account for the flow and accounting of ballots so they don't get 'lost or misplaced'. Given FL 2000 I'd think any elections official who didn't review their policies and procedures with an eye to prevent the appearance of impropriety didn't do their job.

I don't mind something that appears fair. And I would ask for a hand recount if Rossi were trailing by 42. But this appears to be a changing the rules after the fact kind of thing by counting newly found votes.

King Co. must have destroyed Kitsap Co. in a hostile aggression. Media not reporting this. State site pretending Kitsap Co. never existed (by excluding from recount results).

Dem b@st@rds!

The priority now is to do our darnedest to prevent fraud during the inevitable hand recount.

Bingo. A private, impartial firm should be doing this. No political party reps, from any party, should be touching those ballots.

Gregoire should step aside. She lost the count and the recount.

That's what had me confused. Since Kitsap hasn't reported and the State site is showing no original count right now are you just projecting?

Numerous sources report unofficial results from Kitsap. See here, for instance.

My fringe radical neighbor left work for the day... rather abruptly. I wonder if a Red Electroid in the Pacific Northwest is just too much for the Blue Meanies to handle after the Presidential outcome?

KITSAP IS OFFICIAL! The preliminary reports were correct; Gregoire gained 34.

Rossi wins 1,372,484 to 1,372,442. Phew.

You'll shortly be seeing a moving van is his driveway... with a sign that says "LA OR BUST!"

Well, perhaps we know where we might move next. Vancouver looks more and more like Bellevue these days. SE Portland is a bit segregated... politically speaking. I'm pretty sure, Republicans aren't allowed to use public restrooms, and must ride in the back of the bus.

or BC or bust!

There's a slogan for Canada: "BC... the OTHER Vancouver."

... no Apple-maggots, but Street-maggots are welcome.

They know who the voters are. The NCGOP asked that those voters cast their ballots again. Sorry, I left that out.
