WACO, Texas -- At one time, the debate over Darwin's theory existed as a cartoon in the modern imagination. Thanks to popular portrayals of the Scopes Trial, secularists regularly reviewed the happy image of Clarence Darrow goading William Jennings Bryan into agreeing to be examined as an expert witness on the Bible and then taking him apart on the stand.

If you don't believe in intelligent design then you aren't a right-wing conservative. And the "No true Scotsman" argument appears.

I guess it's a matter of where you place your faith. I trust in God. You trust in science.
I just think that it's ironic when Evolutionists deride those that have faith in Creationism / Intelligent Design, when they (Evolutionists) make up for the lack of scientific evidence with faith.

"Proverbs 23:7 - For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:..." You are correct sir! Some of us are apes. The question is did we start out as apes or devolve to them?

Wow, such obvious drivel from a neanderthal.
How is it that Darwin himself states that man and even animals are so complex that there must have been intelligent design and yet his blind minions fail to grasp that concept?

I don't believe in intelligent design or creationism, but I am a right wing conservative, with 4139 posts here on FR and over 20 years as a card carrying member of the Conservative Party to prove it. Although I am not an Athiest, I am smart enough to know the difference between religion and science.

We didn't descend from apes. We share a common ancestor.

So we have now established that you can't comprehend either intellignet design OR the fact that right wing involves a religious belief most predominantly christian.

Excuse me very much, but don't you dare tell people how to be a right-wing conservative. Who says you can't be a right-wing conservative not not believe in intelligent design?

I don't have a problem with the basic concept of "intelligent design". But the concept of the intelligent designer as the omnipotent humanoid God of the Bible is intellectually indefensible. And gets us nowhere, since it only leads back to the question of who designed the designer? However, I wouldn't be at all surprised if much of our world and/or solar system is the science project of some more advanced being. After all, we're probably no more than a couple hundred years away from being able to design and plant life to populate and evolve on some other planet of our choice, say Mars, for example.

Don't shoot the messenger:
Apes still floating around is not a problem for Evolution. In a nutshell...
The theory goes that Isthmus of Panama rose up due to volcanic activity a few million years ago. This stopped the free flow of water from the Pacific to the Atlantic. This resulted in a difference in the saline levels of the oceans which resulted in changes in ocean temperature which led to changes in wind patterns. These new wind patterns and the rain patterns that accompanied them resulted in the large sections of forests of Africa turning into plains. (This part I believe is factual from geological evidence.)
According to the Out of Africa Evolution Theorists 7 million years ago the apes that left the forest to seek out food on these newly deforested plains eventually evolved into humans. Walking upright is supposed to be the advantageous trait that made food gathering on the plains easier followed by social groups and language to communicate for hunting. Apes are still around because some of them never left the forest.

Perhaps we need a "Godwin's Law" for Creation/Evolution threads: First disputant to say "Praise the Lord!" loses.

Ha. I used to be a neanderthal, but I've since evolved into a hetero sapien.
I see you don't wish to actually answer the question. But we both know why that is, don't we?

And men are apes. This is a contradiction. You're saying A equals B.
Unlike apes, men possess intellect and will.
