I have never once had a popup in Firefox that I did not specifically request to open.

Granted, 'ideablitz' sounds like he works for one of Microsoft's overseas sales divisions, but Firefox is a little susceptible to popups. It does stop the popup on Drudge and most others, but a few slip through.

Actually, the killer browser would be Opera, if only they could break themselves of the habit of offsetting one feature that doesn't work by introducing another feature that also doesn't work.
