I put a check in the mail today.
I thought this was about you. You have a lot of friends here, including me. Having worked with lawyers and, unfortunately having to hire them as well, you might want to sign the release. I understand that "principal" plays a significant part in your decision, but crap like this is a no-win situation. (Unless you have dirt on this dude and can show he's a fruitcake within a half hour of court time.) Make it gone and live life to the fullest.

In order to pursue the action, there must be and alledged tort. What tort or damages does the plaintiff plead? How much are they demanding? What are his proofs or evidentuary material put forth. I have been the object of a lawsuit before and I know exactly how debilitating it can be to a person, his wife, his family, his perception of the future for himself and his children. To the lawyer, it is just a day at the office. To the defendant, it is your life.
