I haven't heard that before. Thanks for the info. I hope that's good news. (The press in the early days of the U.S. was highly inflammatory. I wonder what the new press in Iraq will be like -- it may or may not be helpful to building a peaceful, prosperous and tolerant society.)

They're using our free press as a weapon against us. I'm not sure what we should do about it -- I've been a huge fan of the embedded reporter program up until now, and I'm not ready to scrap it just yet.

This is about the same line of Bullsh*t that attorneys always spew out:"Oh, if it was not for us, the rights of the Little Man would be trampled."
They leave out that they will get violent criminals off-by hook or by crook. They leave out that they charge 300-500 PER HOUR. They leave out that with their 33% of a civilo Settlement, PLUS Expenses, the Little Man ends up with about 40%.
By this statement, this A$$h*le Sites shows which side he is on--and it ain't ours.
I think that he has likely been lurking on FR threads concerning this incident. Possibly other sites as well. That and the E-mails he is getting likely prompted this.
That Marine acted properly, and even though I was not in the same room, it is still quite evident. It is exactly untrue that this person Sites was not looking to capitalize on this "incident."
I assume you're directing your comments at the cameraman -- not at the freeper who posted this article.

Maybe some "real" investigative reporter can find out how many men that terrorist beheaded, how many limbs he cut from bodies, how many women and children he killed, how many young girls he raped and other vile crimes he committed before he was stopped from ever doing so again. I bet the families who suffered at his hand, and the hands of others like him are just quietly saying "Thank you" but Kevin Sites isn't bothering to film them. That would be too "fair and balanced."
That'a a laugh. Chris Matthews immediately treated the Marine as if he was guilt of murder.
But there were complications. We were part of a video "pool" in Falluja, and that obligated us to share all of our footage with other networks. I had no idea how our other "pool" partners might use the footage.
He knew damn well Al Jazeera would use this to make American Soldiers look bad and that it would be used to incite violence against American Soldiers.
I considered not feeding the tape to the pool -- or even, for a moment, destroying it.
All lies.
But that thought created the same pit in my stomach that witnessing the shooting had. It felt wrong. Hiding this wouldn't make it go away.
Showing it made it worse.
There were other people in that room. What happened in that mosque would eventually come out.
There was nothing to come out. Your video created 'something'.
I would be faced with the fact that I had betrayed truth as well as a life supposedly spent in pursuit of it.
You betrayed the soldiers who were protecting you and betrayed America by making this video.

You think that because you run around with a camera crew and a sat phone in a war zone, that you are the equal of The Few and The Proud.
You wouldn't last 20 seconds at Camp Lejeune or Parris Island.
You and your kind in the MSM ( David Bloom , Dr Bob Arnot and the FOX embeds are the glaring exceptions ) are anti military and pro terrorist.
