This is the only thing in the article that I did not like. The bill of rights does not grant rights, it simply affirms the preexisting rights all people are supposed to enjoy, and enumerates basic ways that the federal government is supposed to be limited so as not to violate those rights. The BOR does not give rights to people, it limits the government.
