SANTIAGO, Chile (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) on Saturday warned Iran of growing international concern over reports that Tehran is preparing large amounts of uranium for an enrichment process that can be used to make nuclear weapons.
"This is a very serious matter. The world knows it's a serious matter and we're working together to solve this matter," Bush told reporters during a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi in Santiago.
The two leaders were in Chile for a summit hosted by the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (news - web sites) forum.

lets beat their ass before they have the chance to kill us or Israel..
Well, ok Iran, play with your little uranium toys if you must, but we have much bigger badder weapons with which to shut your little lab down.
When President Bush says something, he means it. The Iranians should be smart enough to know this. I wonder when the attacks on Iran will start when they thumb their noses at us again.
Take a good look at your asses, Mullahs. You won't be seeing them soon...
Clinton said he would not permit NK to get nukes, but he was aa bluffer. Bush, when pushed by BOR on Fox, said he would not tolerate Iranian nukes, but he sure sounded like he was reluctant to to be pushed into a flat declaration. If Bush blinks, it will be over this. He could not get a Congressional resolution for force against Iran no matter what Iran does short of using a nuke in anger. Would he act suddenly without Congress? Maybe... but we don't have the firepower on hand to hold Iraq and take and hold Iran. Thus, Iraqification is key to credible threat to Iran. Which is why Syria and Iran will continue to sow chaos.
"Take a good look at your asses, Mullahs. You won't be seeing them soon..."
"All we are saying is give MOABS a chance. All we are saying is Give B-2s their chance".
Countdown time. If Comrade Kerry won, he would be holding a "peace" conference with Iran.
Actually If Kerry had his way--he would be giving Iran the materials to make nuclear energy...LOL
I hope Bush learned not to telegraph his punches after Iraq. A simple public statement made sometime (soon) that Iran getting nukes will not be tolerated or allowed and that the US will do whatever necessary to enforce this policy should be sufficient warning.
Comrade Kerry would also be bending over for the Mullahs for you know what.
very true!
but we don't have the firepower on hand to hold Iraq and take and hold Iran
Wrong. 1st we don't need to take and hold. Just bomb the nuke Sites out of existance.
2nd, the idea that the US Military is "over stretched" is just more Dinasour Media BS. Here is the link. More then half of JUST the US Army is NOT Deployed at the current monment add in half the Marines and virtually ALL of the AF and Navy. Sorry we HAVE the power to take out Iran.

Could they perhaps make a multilateral decision ?
it would be nice to wait for the "free iran "groups or a UN snactions or or or the clock is ticking and there may be IRAN hearings on how we let this happen..I feel it's coming to a head and if the people there dont stop it we (or israel) must and tough sh-- on the nice iranians
Persians are not stupid like Arabs.
President Bush has plenty of political capital - and he may decide to 'spend it'....
Bombing by Clinton in 1998 was pointless. Israel had one clearly located reactor to bomb, which taught the bad guys to disperse and/or harden their nuke efforts. A strike on Iranian nuke and missle sites cannot be guaranteed success. And the bad guys are still there with perhaps more public support.
We need regime change, and fast, one way or another.
Anything less is at best a play for time.
"All we have is air power and a naval blockade to stop them. May not be good enough. Iran is a formidable power. They'd bloody our noses good"
RIGHT that is why in 8 years of war they captured exactly ZERO% of Iraq, a nation we over ran in 3 weeks.
