He's an Arkansan because he coached at Arkansas? He also coached at NC State, Minnesota (I think), and Notre Dame.

He's one of the biggest crooks in College Football Seems unlikely that the head coach of Notre Dame could be as you say, and no one in the media would expose him. Are you a Michigan fan? USC?

Michigan is playing their way out of the Rose Bowl. The BCS is falling apart.

Great day for the Pac 10 and Big 10.

There is enough background on this guy about how he skirted the acadamic qualifications for entrance to Notre Dame in his quest to win. He had endless battles with the administration over this and when he lost he still did what he wanted. The Notre Dame infatuated media kept a lid on this until he was gone. In fact one of the reasons that Notre Dame has for the most part struggled since he left was because the Administration there regained control over admission.
As far as being an Arkansas, he rose to fame as coach of Arkansas. I probably could have put Nolan Richardson on that list, he deserves it, but I believe he was a Texan. His fame came while at Arkansas as did Holtz.

And no , I am in no way a Big 10 fan or Notre Dame fan. I just tired of the fawning over this guy who to me is the Football equivalent of Larry Brown.

Seems to me it's common knowledge and generally believed in this part of the country.

Part of the story being he doesn't get run out of town, but leaves just before the feathers hit the fan.
