The people here are giving Rush his due for having been a catalyst of the modern conservative movement. Whether he gets paid in gold bars or used oysters, any reasonable person realizes that we would not even be close to where we are today in this country--which is to say, on the verge of a conservative pre-eminence--were it not for Rush Limbaugh. Rush does not do my thinking for me. Rush articulates his thinking, and a version of conservatism that is very marketable to a truly mass audience, and has an electronic pulpit to preach it from. Go find another thread to make trouble on.

Trouble? Hardly. I find it of no small concern when I see (and this thread is not the only example) adulation of talking heads to the degree that they are imparted with abilities and characteristics that I do not see in them. Such breathless accolades make one wonder how Reagan was elected without him.

IOW, when it comes close to hero-worship, I voice my concern, as I believe is the obligation of all like-minded individuals.

I would never attempt to prevent you or anyone else from speaking your mind in whatever manner you deem the most fitting, but if I see something troubling I comment on it.
