Better ways to 'Support our troops' than ribbons stuck on a car( barf alert)

Magnetic ribbons of all colors, sizes and varieties are being attached to the tails of SUVs and compact cars alike, like so many dot-commers swarming to the deceiving stock market rise of the late '90s. In particular, the yellow and red, white and blue ribbons sporting the phrases "Support Our Troops" and "Freedom Isn't Free" have become as common as taillights.

Yeah. I mean this idiot makes it sound like an either/or situation.

What bothers me is that this clown (well damned near all libs) has some bug up his butt about something that ain't his friggin business anyway. Ya don't wanna buy a ribbon? Don't buy a ribbon. But for goodness sake, to they ALWAYS have to throw a tantrum about it? What stake has he in the fact that lots of people do it? None I can see. How's about just STFU and send the care package already.

I guess the primary prerequisites to being a lib is having no life and having your nose up everyone else's a$$.

Must really pi$$ the liberals off to realize that each ribbon represents a vote for W.

You just hit the heart of the matter, I think. The liberals probably think we're taunting them by displaying the ribbons on our cars and trucks. Same with American flag stickers, the other thing guaranteed to send liberals into fits of shuddering rage.

It never failed to amaze me before the election. American flags and ribbon stickers were very common on cars with BC '04 stickers. I did not see a single American flag or ribbon on a vehicle with a Kerry/Edwards sticker.

I thought Libs were big into ribbons. Now that I know this one gets their lacy panties all in a wad, I'm going stick one on my truck.

I almost bought one for my truck last weekend at the flea market. Looks like I might be making a return visit (heh heh - flea markets are yet another thing that gives "sophisticated" liberals the vapors).

I've already got a Christian fish, a "Proud to be an American" sticker, a flag and a terrorist hunting permit sticker on my back bumper and window. May as well get a ribbon and make the lefties have full-out strokes when they ride behind me.

You know what the real problem this writer has with those stickers? That they're really stealth Bush bumper stickers. You'll never see the "support the troops" stickers on a liberal's car, that's for sure.

While I did not see a single Bush-Cheney bumper sticker where I live (Staten Island, NY) I have noticed a ton of the support the troops stickers. And Staten Island went 57% for Bush, so it's not a coincidence. I think these stickers really are the stealth BC stickers, so that people can let others in the know be aware about who they support for president, without having to worry about their car being vandalised due to the sticker.

You're opinion is just as important as that of anyone else! At least to me!

During the campaign, while driving around with my seven year old on errands, I told her to look for support the troop ribbons on cars with Kerry/Edwards stickers. We made a game of it, but the net result was one. One car. And we live in over populated Dutchess County, NY, traffic everywhere. Just re-confirmed for me what I already knew after years of being a koolaid drinker myself. Liberals don't give a flying fig about the troops and they despise the military and everyone in it.

Pete Seeger!

Damn! That must have been eye-opening.

He's a freakin' Stalinist!

You don't know the half of it. Seeger is nuts, maybe he's going senile, who knows. Unfortunately, my field is chock full of liberals, so its hard for me not to bump into them. I was head-hunted for the job at an "environmental" group he founded. Its a front really. They do nice educational programs for kids on the Hudson River, but back at the office it was all about Bush hate, America hate, but most of all CAPITALIST hate. Not to mention support for the terrorists as freedom fighters. I would have quit anyway if I didn't get fired, but it was so much better that they fired me for daring to be supportive of the war effort in Iraq. Now I can expose them for what they are, intolerant narrow minded communists.

Is New York a right-to-work state?

If not, you might have grounds for a wrongful termination suit.

And you just hate that, don't you?

Too darn bad.
