Europe fears for future

DAVOS, Switzerland -- Western Europeans are the world's most pessimistic people, with 55 percent telling pollsters their children will live "in a less safe world."

Germans are the gloomiest of the lot, with the 63 percent saying the world is getting more dangerous. Next gloomiest after the Western Europeans were people from the Middle East, and then people from the Asian Pacific. Africans and people from North and South America were the most optimistic.

The global survey of 50,000 people in over 60 countries was conducted by the World Economic Forum, which runs the annual Davos conference in the Swiss Alps for global power-brokers.

The survey also showed the Europeans were more tolerant of their politicians' failings that other regions, although 90 percent of Poles complained that their political leaders were not honest. But only 12 percent of the Dutch felt the same way about their politicians.

Their fear is well founded if they must depend on the likes of Chiraq and Schroeder for defense and moral compass.

Maybe I'll buy up more Prozac stock. Sounds like Europe could be a lucrative market.

What children? They're barely having any.

striking that Africans, who have an awful lot of challenges ahead of them, are more optimistic than Germans, who actually have it pretty good.

More proof that our Ancestors were wise in leaving Europe.

They do not appear to have included Americans in their survey. Would this be because Americans are optimistic about the future for our children? Optimistic due to the fact that we are actively engaged in insuring that there is a future for our children?

And I see that as a good thing, a very, very good thing.

Of course, I'd be pessimistic too if my country were drowning in Socialism and sliding into total irrelevance. That, coupled with all the women looking like they've got Buckwheat in a headlock every time the raise their hands above their head........yeah, I'd be very pessimistic....

Europeans are having no children. They killed Christianity in their insane drive toward secularism. The Muslims will cut your head off if you try to get them to be "secular" or tolerant in Western Europe. 1400 years of invasions by Muslims into Europe and the Europeans are still clueless.

They are importing MILLIONS of Muslims to support them in their old age. What a smart strategy as Mustafa cuts of old grand dad's head to reduce the pension problem.

looks dim indeed.

They may be related. They're scared of the future, so they don't produce any.
