I learn so much at FR. Even though I am armed, shooting a bear in NJ (out of season) is bad news--for the shooter!

You're welcome! You might want to consider buying a Inert Bear Spray Training Canister to practice with and get the feel of how a can of the real stuff goes off when you pull the trigger. I felt better about the product after seeing how it sprays and practicing a bit.

I also bought a K-T - Kozee-Tote transport case for safety. Bear pepper spray is VERY nasty stuff and you don't it want rolling around in a car and going off accidently.
