"All we need to do is protect the Arizona border, where most of them are coming through."
Most of them are coming through the Arizona border NOW because of the crackdown on the San Diego border and the tough desert in Imperial County.
Lock down Arizona and they will simply move to the next easier area -
That's why the solution isn't going to be found with overemphasis on more border band aids, but rather with better interior enforcement coupled with a reasonable guest worker program that requires applications from the workers' home countries. Reduce demand and regulate supply.
Then we would lock down that next easier area, and then keep repeating this process until we have the whole damn border locked down.
Well if that's the case then eventually they will run out "easier areas". The 'squeeze' has gotta begin somewhere and AZ is a great start. If they move to another border state then it will be easier to grab them. I'm at the point where I wouldn't mind if they land mined the border or put 50,000 Komodo dragons in the desert as a deterrent.
