The Reagan amnesty in in 1986 and three lesser Clinton amnesties during his Aministration (about a million total) all left us with more illegal aliens at the end of the process than we had at the beginning.

There is currently a voluntary program by which employers can verify with the IRS whether or not an employee or applicant is legally eligible for employment in the U.S. Simply make that mandatory, and everyone will know who the illegal employees are, and who's hiring them. One of the big excuses for nonenforcement is that no one knows where the illegal aliens are. There is now a program that can remove that excuse.
