From the "For What It's Worth" department....It's been awhile, but if memory serves me this initiative gives the federal government control over such things as construction allowed along the river itself, population density...and, possibly more importantly, it gives the government control over feeder streams/creeks, run-offs, as well as associated wetlands. This initiative has impact upon commerce and agriculture. In my opinion, it's a bad idea.
I recall that the idiot Clinton asked that communities across Amereica submit rivers for designation as an American Heritage River.
Local nitwit politicians, and their eco-fascist masters, submitted a list to the slimeball in the whitehouse. (I forgot which left wing jackass was running this federal scam.)
Anyway, several rivers were designated as American Heritage Rivers. I believe the Detroit River was one. Naturally, private landowners along the rivers were never consulted - typical of the arrogant fascists infesting the Clinton whorehouse.
The whole damn thing was an illegal theft of private property, because federal regulations on federal land always seems to spill over onto private property. It was about control, and creating de facto government nature preserves on private property without paying compensation.
Clinton, in my book, was the biggest land thief since Lenin.
They ought to fly the UN flag at the library; that's where his true allegiance lay.
If either Clinton gets a chance at the U.N. they will make Whitewater look like a Sunday School picnic and the Oil For Food scandal will no longer be the world's largest case of embezzlement. Either Clinton would end up owning the whole d*mn world if they could.
