recall the fruit guy outside Penn Station?
That sounds logical, some loud fireworks in order to distract attention. I'm just wondering if something is being sent up, then detonated creating some sort of substance in the area that could be potentially lethal when called upon? (another half-baked conspiracy theory).
I must admit though these lights in the sky have peaked my curiousity, especially the most latest being in Indonesia where we know they are very active.
I guess the proper answer is, we will never know. Thanks for your take on this.

I've been following this. I don't believe it, but alot of the details are creepy and ARE consistent with reports we have heard even months ago
Thanks Vel, its been a while since they've posted here I forgot.
Bush stated Iran will NOT have a nuclear weapon. Now reports are coming through that OBL and his cohorts may well be in Iran. Something is up, folks.
Thank you Velvetta :)
Yup, another year. Let's hope this time, this year you can wish me another one. =)

The Mujahideen have launched a destructive attack against a convoy of 13 Crusader vehicles in the region of Qaim on the Syrian border 420km west of Baghdad. The battles lasted from 1 until 2:10. The battles cost the lives of 72 American Crusaders, among them a number of officers who were______ themselves towards the base of Asad east of Qaim.
Nine Crusader officers were killed according to witnesses. The Mujahideen numbered 35 armed with SPG9,C5K,RPG7, and other anti-tank missiles. Seven among them found the martyr, god willing, 4 Iraqis and 3 Arab volunteers( Egyptian, Kuwati and Algerian).
The Mujahideen were posted in order to encircle the convoy after having watched for their route. They destroyed the first vehicles of the convoy, a tank, and the last vehicles in order to block the road to the convoy, after which the convoy found themselves in a ditch blocked on all sides. The Mujahideen attacked for more than an hour completely eradicating the convoy.
The other part:
3 Apache helicopters were brought down in the town of Hit yesterday and today

Motorists traveling on Arapahoe Road in the next few days can expect to see signs asking for help in the case of a missing radioactive rod.
Even after the Englewood firm that lost an engineering gauge posted a $2,500 reward last week, investigators still haven't located the device, which is commonly used to probe moisture at construction sites.
"We've had several calls but no substantial leads," said Steve Tarlton, manager of the state health department's radiation management unit. The gauge fell off a Ground Engineering Consultants Inc. truck on East Arapahoe Road between South Havana and South Potomac streets Dec. 10.
Health department officials said the gauge was in a cooler-size container when it slid out of the truck, which had its tailgate open. While most pieces of the container and gauge were found immediately, company officials discovered that a 24-inch-long steel rod containing a radioactive pellet of cesium-137 was missing. Radiation levels from the source would be almost 31 millirems from about 1 foot away - about twice the amount of radiation a person would receive from a chest X-ray.
The radiation management unit has swept Arapahoe Road with Geiger counters since the gauge was reported missing but hasn't detected anything unusual...... Link to Full Article
Dutch Eye "born-again" Muslim Threat (12/23/04)
Thu Dec 23, 2004 02:26 PM GMT By Emma Thomasson AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - The Dutch secret service says combating terrorism also means tackling the problem of thousands of disaffected "born again" Muslims in the West who are open to the appeal of a radical, puritan version of Islam.
The AIVD, which has previously said it is monitoring about 150 suspected Islamist militants in The Netherlands, said "several thousand" Muslims, mostly youngsters, were vulnerable to the appeal of radical Islam. The Netherlands is home to about 1 million Muslims, or about 6 percent of the population.
The AIVD said the murder last month of filmmaker Theo van Gogh, who angered Muslims with his blunt criticism of their religion, should not be seen as an isolated incident. A 26-year-old Dutch-Moroccan with suspected links to a network of Islamic extremists has been charged with the murder and has been linked to an 18-year-old arrested in June on suspicion of planning attacks on Dutch government buildings.
"Recruitment of Dutch youths with mostly foreign roots for the armed radical Islamic struggle is rather a trend than an incident in The Netherlands," the AIVD said.
The report said young Muslims in the West were increasingly dealing with a crisis of identity by becoming "born-again" Muslim puritans, who communicate via the Internet and are inspired by independent travelling imams.......
A New Kind of New Year's Resolution (12/23/04)
2 hours, 20 minutes ago
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Instead of the usual New Year's resolutions to lose weight, quit smoking or exercise more, the Department of Homeland Security is urging Americans to create a family emergency plan for any terror attack.
"The start of a new year is a time when many Americans are inclined to think about ways to make improvements for the future," departing Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge said Wednesday.
"Creating a family emergency plan is a great place to start. Families can create a plan that will allow them to know how best to communicate with one another in the event of an emergency," he said in a statement.
A suggestion by the department in February 2003 that Americans stockpile duct tape and plastic sheeting as part of an emergency kit in case of a chemical attack caused a rush on hardware stores and was widely ridiculed....
God rest ye, merry gentlemen....
The very concept of a "born again" Muslim scares me.
The longer the beard, the closer to Allah?
