Arguing that alcohol is not a drug and people who drink are not drug users is odd.

I agree, which is why I did no such thing. What I suggested was that considering all drugs to be the same (i.e., bad) was a tad silly and puritan. Also, whilst those of us who drink tea and coffee, or wine, are drug-users, the colloquial use of that term denotes something far removed from a gin and tonic before supper; even more so sitting down to afternoon tea.

Comparing coffee and tea to alcohol and other drugs, you have to admit is quite a stretch. If you keep on stretching, drugs could probably be found in the natural foods we eat.
