I look at it this way, now is the right time to get our infighting done and agendas set. No one has anything to risk right now. We want the machine running smoothly when the 2005 session kicks off.
Exactly. McCain was loyal to GWB during the election. Now is the proper time for him to propose anything he wants to. What's more, I doubt GWB is even bothered a little by this. We don't need every Senator to march in lockstep on every issue; nor is that a realistic goal. McCain helped GWB get elected, and that's really all we needed from him in 2004. I don't agree with him on CO2; so what? McCain doesn't have the votes to carry the day on this issue. Let him rant; he's not hurting anyone.
